Apartments are offered with a variety of levels of finishing, depending on the offer. They are cheapest when bought off-plan, but on the other hand, when buying a finished apartment you can see exactly what you are giving your money for.
Prices of apartments in Bulgaria depend on a number of factors, one of the most important ones being their location. New blocks (built in the last few years) are usually 4-5 floors with large windows and with balconies. On the ground floor there usually are shops and offices. The apartments usually consist of a living-room with a dining area and a kitchenette, bedroom/bedrooms, a bathroom and lavatory, a corridor and terrace/terraces.
In the last year or so the Bulgarian property market underwent fundamental changes and started a process of self-regulation which is expected to end in 2010. One of the results of this process is the considerable decrease of apartment prices.
