The town of Balchik is a seaside town situated 31 km north of Varna. It is a relatively large settlement along the Northern seaside and a harbor used for medium-sized passenger and commercial vessels. Famous place of interest in Balchik is The Botanical Garden- the "residence" of 3000 plant species, and thus Europe’s second most important collection. There are approximately 500 m down to the sea, with a level difference of around 80 meters. There are stairs where the level difference is greatest.
