Pamporovo to be turned into №1 in the Balkans with 80 km of ski tracks
Bulgarian top ski resort Pamporovo will invest in the coming years to connect the center to the "Mechi Chal" slope in Chepelare, said Marian Belyakov, Executive Director of "Pamporovo" AD.
Combining Pamporovo and Chepelare aims to create the largest ski resort in the Balkans with over 80 km of tracks. The project to connect the two areas by ski lift is in the phase of administrative procedures.
Connecting ski area in Chepelare is a strategic project for the development of the resort, said Belyakov. There are initial plans to build two new lifts and launch at least two tracks that connect complex Pamporovo and "Mechi Chal" in a new mega resort.
Merging both ski areas will increase the competitiveness of the ski resort and will enable to host the prestigious sporting events.
"Mechi Chal" features 12 tracks of varying difficulty with a total length of 20 kilometers. The track "Mechi Chal - 1" is the longest track alpine skiing in Bulgaria and is certified by FIS with the opportunity to receive world-class competitions.
