Sofia property market strengthens - BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Price Indices (BPI) – March 2014

Sofia property market continues to strengthen with listing prices following an upward trend for 5 months in a row. A growing demand has been supporting this process and we expect to see increased dynamics in the coming months.

The same is also valid for the other big cities in Bulgaria. The market in Varna has stabilized and we now see positive monthly and annual price changes. Positive price trends are also present in Burgas and Plovdiv. Sunny Beach is seeing an increase of activities and demand as we go closer to the start of the summer season. The only market with an index colored only in red is Bansko where the listing prices have been crawling downwards even during the winter season.

BULGARIAN PROPERTIES' indexes measure apartments listing prices in 4 main locations - Sofia, Varna, Sunny Beach and Bansko in order to provide timely information about the market trends in the biggest city and vacation housing markets in Bulgaria.

The key points for each index for March 2014 are as follows:

Sofia
• Change in last month: +0.73%
• Change in last 12 months: +7.81%
• Change from the highest value: -42.07%

The current BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Index value for the listing prices of apartments in Sofia for March 2014 is 57.93 percentage points. The average monthly listing price of the apartments in the capital in is 866 Euro/sq.m.

Varna
• Change in last month: +3.38%
• Change in last 12 months: +12.94%
• Change from the highest value: -35.09%

The current BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Index value for the listing prices of apartments in Varna for March 2014 is 64.91 percentage points. The average monthly listing price of the apartments in the biggest coastal city in Bulgaria is 967 Euro/sq.m.

Sunny Beach
• Change in last month: +1.12%
• Change in last 12 months: -5.38%
• Change from the highest value: -38.51%

The current BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Index value for the listing prices of apartments in Sunny Beach for March 2014 is 61.49 percentage points. The average monthly listing price of the apartments in the biggest beach resort in Bulgaria is 745 Euro/sq.m.

Bansko
• Change in last month: -1.04%
• Change in last 12 months: -10.57%
• Change from the highest value: -58.55%

The current BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Index value for the listing prices of apartments in Bansko for March 2014 is 41.45 percentage points. The average monthly listing price of the apartments in the biggest ski resort in Bulgaria is 530 Euro/sq.m.
