Country homes in Bulgaria value for money
The cost of a country home in Bulgaria has dropped to levels last seen in 2006. As a leading estate agency there reports that since the beginning of 2012 rural properties have sold for an average price of just €15,500, compared to €18,900 for the same period last year.
Bulgarian Properties added that this is similar to the average price in the last quarter of 2011, namely €15,600. Most deals for rural houses are between €10,000 and €20,000, but there is also interest for more expensive houses that are ready to live in, and close to a resort or city.
It is rural houses in the seaside regions – around Bourgas, Varna and Dobrich and in the villages in central Bulgaria – and close to the towns of Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora and Plovdiv that attract most interest from buyers, said Bulgarian Properties.
The agent added that the rural houses on the market today are of a much better quality than previously. Many of them have been renovated to a high standard and are ready to live in, but are available for 2006 prices, making them value for money.
