Stara Zagora-the fifth largest city in Bulgaria
The fifth largest city in Bulgaria is situated at the foot the Sredna Gora Mountain. Rich in natural resources and a prime tourist spot. Stara Zagora is a modern, industrial, cultural and educational centre with an interesting history - making it a good place to live and work.
Forests are the most valuable natural resource in this area and in the eastern part of the region there is the world famous ‘valley of the roses’ – 70% of the world attar(extract of roses) comes from here. Stara Zagora is also a major tourist area with its leafy boulevards, mineral baths, pavement cafes, museums, restaurants, galleries, shops and Thracian
ruins. The region has a good infrastructure and plenty of industrial, cultural and educational centres. After 1873 this region became an important military, strategic and
cultural centre. It is also popular for its organised musical and theatrical life and has its fair share of famous artists which include the opera singer Hristina Morfova and the famous poet Geo Milev.
There is an easy access to all other major locations in the country: Sofia is 230 km.; Plovdiv is 90 km.; Bourgas is 180 km and Rousse 235 km. away. There is also the Thracian and Maritza motorways nearing completion giving even more scope in creating faster and more efficient travel networks. Situated in the middle of the country Stara Zagora offers a strategic crossroads between the eastern, western, northern and southern regions of Bulgaria making it an attractive place to stay, as well as a pleasant area to relax and have a holiday.
