Direct Flight to Link Bulgarian Black Sea Capital, London
British Airways will launch a new summer route from Bulgaria to the United Kingdom in 2006 by introducing a two times weekly service from Varna to London.
The new flights will operate from Varna airport to London Gatwick airport every Wednesday and Saturday. These flights will be operated by Boeing 737-400 aircraft and will be available till the end of October 2006.
The further expansion of British Airways services in Bulgaria demonstrates the company's dedication to the rapidly developing aviation market and tourism industry in Bulgaria.
The new summer route from Varna to London Gatwick will offer Bulgarian passengers more flexibility when traveling with British Airways not only to London but to more than 160 destinations beyond. It is also a response to the increasing interest in the Bulgarian sea-coast as a tourist destination, registered within the UK over the last years.
Emil Delibashev, British Airways Country Commercial Manager for Bulgaria said "Through the launch of the new Varna route, we will be offering in total twelve flights a week between Bulgaria and the capital of the United Kingdom. We envisage keeping our flight progarmme from this summer, which in addition to the existing daily flights to London Heathrow, include the three new extra flights to London Gatwick."
In addition to the existing daily flights to London Heathrow, as of June 3rd this year, British Airways had launched three extra early flights from Sofia to London Gatwick, offering further links onward to many worldwide destinations at the same day.
The new Varna - London Gatwick route is part of the British Airways progarmme for expansion in the South East Europe region, which also include simultaneously launch of new routes to Tirana and Ismir.
