Bulgarian Minister of Transport: We are Determined to Keep all Deadlines for Construction of Danube Bridge 2
“It is expected that the implementation of Danube Bridge 2 Project begins in the middle of next year”, Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev
stated at the opening of the new office of the Management and Execution Unit of Danube Bridge Vidin-Kalafat Project, a journalist of FOCUS News Agency reported. Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Savin Kovachev announced that the permit for construction of adjoining infrastructure that would improve the access to the bridge has already been signed.
Minister Mutavchiev stated that the Government was determined to keep all deadlines for the construction of Danube Bridge 2, which has to be built for a period of 38 months.
“This will be a European bridge, which connects two European countries. I hope that its construction would bring a more intensive development of the economy”, Mutafchiev stated. He expressed hopes that the implementation procedures be transparent so that there were “no superfluous court cases”.
Earlier today, Minister Mutafchiev visited border point Vrashka Chushka. According to him, the border point is in good condition but it needs a customs check-up hall. “This needs to be done”, the Minister added.
Deputy Minister Kovachev announced that by June of next year, a complete rehabilitation of the Montana-Vidin stretch needs to be done.
