The Bulgarian government decided to lift the visa regime for the citizens of the U.S., Great Britain and 11 other countries, Romanian news agency Mediafax reports.
A common European rule is being introduced for issuing visas with right of residence of up to 90 days within a period six months.
The countries whose citizens will not need visas to enter Bulgaria are Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, New Zealand and Guatemala. The decree will enter into force on September 1st, the agency notes.
