Bulgaria sea resorts boost 9-mo earnings
All tourism companies traded on the Bulgarian stock exchange have recorded in their non-consolidated financial reports a bump in January-September earnings.
Sea resort Albena said operating income rose 5.5% year-on-year to 81.9 mln levs while net profit fell 10% to 24.6 mln levs. Expenses increased to 58 mln levs from 51.7 mln levs a year ago.
Sunny Day reported a slight increase in earnings to 9.4 mln levs while net profit slid 62% to 0.419 mln levs.
Earnings at sea resort Golden Sands added 16.4% year-on-year to 20.5 mln levs while net profit perked up by a hefty 44% to 2.9 mln levs.
SS Konstantin&Elena and Riviera posted earnings of 0.84 mln and 1.13 mln levs, respectively.
Tourist visits to Bulgaria's sea resorts increased by 7% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2006.
