There is no heavy industry in this region and all the people make their living mainly by traditional, organic agriculture. There are several shops, cafeteria, a pub, a school and a church.

Outside the village, within walking distance, there is a micro reservoir that is famous among the local birdwatchers for the unique species including two kinds of eagles. One of Bulgaria's biggest reservoirs, Stamboliyski, a popular fishing and recreation destination, stands at 25 km. The two nearby small towns - Pavlikeni and Bjala Cherkva - offer all the shopping and banking necessities in several minutes. Within a radius of 50 km, there are many historic villages, churches and monasteries that make it a favorite destination for both Bulgarians and foreigners.
