Nessebar Declared Capital of Tourism

Standard Daily, 22nd September 2005

"Over 1 million tourists visited Nessebar resort, southern Bulgarian seacoast, this summer," the chair of the municipal council of the Bulgarian Black Sea resort, Dimitar Yankov, informed.
The number of the foreign holiday-makers, who have visited Sunny Beach, Nessebar, St. Vlas and the resort villages from the municipality, have increased by over 10%. The biggest is the increase of the English nationals and the Scandinavians. The number of the German tourists, which used to be the highest, has decreased. According to the data of the tour-operators, the decrease of German tourists in June and July was overcome in August and the average number of the German tourists has increased by over 4-5%. Regardless of the enhanced construction and the fast enlargement of the hotel base in Sunny Beach, the beds in the resort have already been 100% contracted for the whole next tourist season.
