Sofia-based Bulgaria Mall was opened on Dec 1

2012-12-03   |  Econ.bg, 01.12.2012

The Bulgaria Mall shopping centre located in the capital city of Sofia opened it doors on December 1, 2012. The shopping center is positioned at the intersection of two of the most significant Sofia's boulevards – Bulgaria and Todor Kableshkov. Bulgaria Mall has an exceptional location, close to the downtown (less than a 10 min. drive), the Ring Road (app. 2 min. drive) and the most affluent residential quarters of Sofia.

The mall covers a total built area of 130,000 sq m and 33,000 sq m lease area for commercial usage. The mall’s office part consists of a high tower and an office building which exceeds 25,000 sq m.of lettable area.

Bulgaria Mall will be the first shopping centre in Bulgaria which will be positioned as upper scale mall, focusing on the proper combination of medium to premium international brands together with the highest quality Bulgarian retailers.

The €135 million Bulgaria Mall houses 120 stores. Some of the popular brands that located at Bulgaria Mall include Debenhams, Esprit, Technopolis, SportDepot, Hippoland, Fornarina, Guess, Playlife, D'Orne, Stefanel, H&M, Timeland, Premium, Daphne, Triumph, Swissies, Kolev & Kolev, Geox, Eagle Time, Altinbas, Catty, Pompea, Paolo Botticeli, Misaki. French retailer Carrefour has opened a hypermarket in the mall. There is Arena cinema complex.

Another mall Paradise Center is expected to be opened at the intersection of Cherni Vrah Blvd. and Srebarna Str. The retail lettable area of Paradise Center will be 80,000 sq.m., which will automatically turn it into the largest mall both in Sofia and Bulgaria.

Next year Sofia Ring Mall will be opened on the Sofia ring road. It will be slightly smaller than Paradise Center. This shopping center will have also a significant size - an area of 72,000 sq.m, which makes it larger than the currently largest shopping center - The Mall on Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd.

The last boom of shopping malls in the capital of Sofia was in April 2010 then were opened the doors of Serdica Center on Sitniakovo Blvd., with 50,000 sq.m. total built-up area and The Mall on Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd. with 66,000 sq.m. total built-up area.
