The Construction of First Ikea Store in Bulgaria Begins in Sofia
The first sod of the first Ikea store in Bulgaria is going to be turned on June 3rd in Sofia. The investment in the site, which is to be located at Sofia’s ring road, amounts to 50 million Euro, said the company owning the brand franchise rights in Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria.
The store will have an area of over 30,000 sq.m. and the staff is going to amount to 350 people. The company’s forecasts are for over 1.6 million visits during the store’s first year on the Bulgarian market. The opening is planned for the end of 2011.
The first Ikea in Bulgaria will also have an open-air and a covered parking lot with 1,200 parking spaces and a restaurant with 600 seats.
