Traditional house with large garden in the center of Bansko

We have a unique offer for sale - one of the oldest houses - Sirleshtova house, built in the 16th century with a garden (1874 sq.m.). During the years of the Turkish slavery, behind the strong walls were hiding rebels, and frequent guests were Yane Sandanski, Gotse Delchev and Peyo Yavorov. The Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization was founded here and in this house it decided on the bloody Ilinden rebellion. The house was built in the 18th and 19th centuries by the Hadjiradonov brothers in the middle of a common property divided by stone walls into three parts, each house having an entrance. It later became the property of the Sirlestovs.

The Sirlestovà or Hadjiradonovà House is a Renaissance building, a monument of culture in the town of Bansko. It is located in the centre of the town, on Yane Sandanski Street. The architectural solutions of the building are in the spirit of the Bansko fortified house.
• Ground floor - barn and open space to the east, 2 cellars and a room with a fireplace, in front of which there is a third cellar.
• Living floor - entered via a staircase under the eaves from the east. It consists of a porch, two rooms (on the south), a living room in the middle, an entrance vestibule on the north - a small room with fireplace, a buttery on the north-west and a room with fireplace which is the old fortified core.

The part built in the 18th century is of solid stone, except for the wall of the cellar to the courtyard, the walls of the additional partitioned cellars and the walls of the rooms to the porch. The tower is entirely of stone, with walls 1.2 m thick. A new fortified core, the so-called tower, was built in the early 19th century. On the ground floor is the hiding place through which one enters. The hideout also has a spare exit in front of a long hallway leading out into one of the courtyards. Through a small entrance and a hallway connected to the old fortified core, one reaches the fortified room with a fireplace on the floor of the tower. From the room, one reaches the hiding place also through a camouflaged floor cover and a movable ladder.

This property housed the first "bank" in Bulgaria, called "Kimera", where wealthy merchants left chests of gold when travelling abroad. The house was like a fortress and resisted the attacks of robber gangs, and in its dungeons there are tunnels and passages to different parts of the town.
