Ablanitsa village is located in the southwestern part of Bulgaria and is part of Blagoevgrad municipality. It is located 22 km from the town of Gotse Delchev, set in the hilly area of the Western Rhodopes. The village of Ablanitsa is situated between the valleys of the rivers Mesta and Bistrica. It is part of Chech, historical and geographical region divided between Bulgaria and Greece and consisting of 60 villages which are inhabited by Pomaks.

Ablanitsa has a hilly terrain and fertile soil, while the climate there is transitional Mediterranean, which creates good conditions for growing of grapes and tobacco, figs and almonds, corn and others. Winters here are mild and summers - warm and dry. Near the village there is an artificial dam.

The village of Ablanitsa is among the oldest settlements in the region of Mesta river, the first written evidence dating back to the end of XV century. At the beginning of this century the village was inhabited by approximately 3000 people, mainly from the Muslim religion.

In the village of Ablanitsa there is a primary school and a community center with a library and theater, and a male folk group. Furthermore, there is a nursery school and kindergarten, a medical center and a pharmacy, as well as a post office.
Near the village, along Bistrica River, there is an interesting Roman bridge. Furthermore, there are also well preserved Revival houses, which are made by craftsmen from the nearby village of Kovachevitsa. In the village of Ablanitsa could be found many archaeological monuments and traces of settlement from the Bronze Age.
