10.08.2010 Night of Museums and Galleries in Plovdiv on September 24th and 25th

For a sixth time Plovdiv will host the traditional Night of Museums and Galleries. Due to the great interest and the busy program this year the event will be organized in the course of two nights – on September 24th and 25th (Friday and Saturday) as the events will start at 7 p.m. and will end at 1 a.m.

The residents and guests of Plovdiv will be able to choose among three main programs: Museums and Galleries (on September 24th), Culture and Club (on September 25th) – with the participation of cultural institutes, bookshops, informal art spots and clubs, and Events in an Urban Environment (September 24th and 25th). All three programs are serious and entertaining, educational and interesting.

In the last few years The Night of the Museums and Galleries in Plovdiv has turned into one of the biggest cultural events in Bulgaria and into an emblem of the region and the country. Following in the footsteps of worldwide tradition Plovdiv’s Night triggers the local artistic community and provokers gallery managers, museum directors and artists to present their works in the most interesting way. The program includes specially organized exhibitions, programs for adults and children, interactive performances, meetings with painters, concerts, film shows, workshops and much more.

This year the program includes almost 20 hours of cultural events which will be presented in the course of two nights in 58 places. The organizers expect more than 25,000 visitors to come to the events.
