Oman Continues the Development of Super Borovets Project
The Sultanate of Oman is continuing with the development of the Super Borovets project three years after the first sod was turned. The investment will add up to 800 million euro, informs Reuters citing an anonymous Oman state employee.
The project of the Super Borovets ski center will be constructed by Oman’s investment fund State General Reserve Fund (SGRF) and a subsidiary of the British Equest. Oman owns 40% of the shares in the future complex.
“The resort, only an hour away from Sofia Airport, is expected to be finished in 2012”, claims Reuter’s source, who is acquainted with the project.
Super Borovets includes the expansion of the existing resort through the construction of new hotels, new ski slopes, lifts and infrastructure, maintenance equipment, as well as various sports and entertainment facilities.
The first sod of the project was turned in October 2007 in the area of Pashenitsa near the town of Samokov.
