Sports Complex to Be Constructed in the Resort of Bansko
Just before the Easter holidays the municipal counselors in the Bulgarian resort of Bansko decided to give the green light to the designing of a sports complex in the Kerandzhiytsa area. The area allocated for the project is 240 decares.
The pre-feasibility studies of the complex were presented during the counselors’ meeting, as the amount of the necessary investments for the complex is not yet known.
The sports center is to have training grounds, a stadium, swimming pools, tennis courts, a racing track, a gym, a medical center, an administrative are, a skate park, basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds, bicycle alleys, dressing rooms, parking lots and streets.
The Municipal Council of the resort also decided on a plot where the future Museum of Mountains will be set.
The Municipality of Bansko will finance the filming of a number of documentaries about Bansko, the great men and families of Bansko. The first documentary to be filmed is to be about the life and art of Neofit Rilski (monk, teacher and artist, an important figure of the Bulgarian National Revival) and will be dedicated to the 130th anniversary of his death.
