The name of the eco path is Since Diskoduratera till Today. The path follows an old Roman road and reaches the ruins of the antique Roman fortress Diskoduratera. The name of the fortress means a fortress of double strength.
The Diskoduratera fortress is located two kilometers south of the village, in the Kaleto area, close to the Yantra River. It was built in the second half of the II century and was an important connection and trade center during the Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
The market place is located on the road from the antique Roman town of Nikopolis ad Istrum to Augusta Trayana. A big custom-house was built there between the years 176-180. The name of the village Gostilitsa (from the Bulgarian word “gosti” – guests) got its name from this place for travelers/guests.
