28.05.2007 Balchik and Kranevo waiting for holidaymakers

Balchik is looking forward to the arrival of its guests – mainly Russians, Romanians, Scandinavians, Englishmen and Germans, as most hotels and restaurants there have opened earlier than expected. And a number of the seasonal hotels in town have declared their plans top shift to a full-year working mode, mainly because of strong interest on behalf of Romanian tourists. Local authorities but are well aware of the shortage in the labor market there – there are not enough qualified employees with foreign languages fluency to fill in existing job vacancies.

On its turn, Kranevo will be completely renovated for the start of this year’s summer season, mayor Georgi Radnev says. According to local construction plans, the road link between Kranevo and Zlatni Pyasuci should be opened by June 1st, road surface repairs will be done, as well as a new trade centre in town (as of June 20th) and a 200-metre pedestrian alley along the seacoast.
