NEARLY 73 000 TOURISTS VISIT BULGARIA’S VELIKO TURNOVO SINCE BEGINNING OF 2007
Nearly 24 000 Bulgarian and foreign tourists visited the town of Veliko Turnovo during the first three months of 2007. The number of visitors to the nearby village of Arbanasi has also increased in comparison to figures for the previous year. Statistics show that from April to June, nearly 49 300 people visited Veliko Turnovo. Thus, the number of visitors for the first six months of the year reached nearly 73 000, Focus news agency reported.
All these figures confirm predictions that visitor interest in 2007 will be higher in comparison to numbers for the previous years. June has not ended yet, meaning that the number of visits for the first six months of the year will be higher than the initial calculations.
Since the beginning of the year, the number of people who have visited Arbanasi is 12 141, Focus reported.
