BULGARIAN PROPERTIES’ Chief Operations Manager: Bulgaria must be promoted abroad well

Trud Daily, 06.01.12, p.12+13

Polina Stoykova - the Chief Operations Manager of real estate agency BULGARIAN PROPERTIES, comments for Trud Daily the company’s forecast for 2012.

2012 will not be an easy year for the business in general and for the real estate sector in particular. But we have been working in such a regime in the last 3 years and we have managed more or less to adapt and to achieve some balance in our business activities. This year we will probably not be hiring new people, we will keep the existing staff and the salary levels and we will continue restructuring and optimizing our work.

What is important specifically for the real estate sector for coming out of the crisis is the return of foreign interest in buying real estate in Bulgaria. This interest might return with Bulgaria’s more active promotion among potential property buyers abroad. The government could help by facilitating visa procedures for property owners from non-EU countries, mostly for Russia, as well as by abolishing the limitation for foreign natural persons to own land in Bulgaria.
