Bulgarian Properties Plovdiv, 6th June 2006

Plovdiv occupies a strategic position not only in Bulgaria but also in Europe and the Middle East, making it an ideal place to relocate and start a new business. There are many organizations in Plovdiv and Bulgaria that can assist individuals and larger concerns to realize their potential. At present traditional industries like food and beverage, tourism, software development and real estate are in a very strong position whilst Spa and health tourism is fast becoming the next attraction in Bulgaria.

For individuals as well as companies that are considering relocation or starting a new business there are many organizations that can assist them. Located in Sofia and Varna there is the British Council which since 1991 has been promoting educational, technical and cultural cooperation between Bulgaria and the UK - being part of a network of 216 0ffices in 109 countries world wide. In Sofia they offer a unique information gateway consisting of a library, a virtual learning information centre and a video conference studio. Whilst in Plovdiv there is also the Plovdiv Guide which is run by a team of experienced Business development personnel which specifically helps individuals to become aquainted with the business practices found in the region.

As Bulgaria moves ever closer to European integration there have been many new investment and social programmes implemented right across the social spectrum, especially in the fields of transport, ecology and cultural historical heritage. In Stara Zagora, a Congress, the first of its kind in Bulgaria, was held in June this year. The main purpose being to do with social protection. Experts from many fields – toxology, pathology and medicine attended. Other programmes similar to this will start next year when Bulgaria finally enters Europe.

So now is probably the best time to invest in Bulgaria, especially in regions that have had a lower profile like Plovdiv and Stara Zagora. In the Plovdiv region a factory with commercial offices and two private houses accommodated across an area of 1500 km can cost as little as 330 000 euros - roughly equivalent to 210 000 British pounds. Similiarly private houses in the Plovdiv region are also still ridiculously under priced. Many properties with good travel networks, local amenities and good sized plots of lands fetch no more than 15 000 euros, whilst in neighborouring Stara Zagora property is even cheaper - a good sized house can cost as little as 7000 euros. Added to this is the ever growing interest in Spa tourism where there is definitely a lot of scope in both the Stara Zagora and Plovdiv regions for this type of investment. So now should be the time to act and take a good look at whats on offer before property prices start to increase.

There is no doubt that Plovdiv and Stara Zagora are becoming the fastest growing real estate markets in Bulgaria at the moment and this should accelerate even further once Bulgaria enters Europe in January 2007. So now is definitely the time to buy in Bulgaria, especially in Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.
