Plovdiv hosts 75th edition of International Technical Fair

2019-09-25   |  Bnr.bg

The town of Plovdiv (Central South Bulgaria) hosts until September 28 the 75th edition of the International Technical Fair. Nearly 600 companies from 34 countries are taking part at the technical fair. The International Fair Plovdiv is the oldest industrial exhibition in Bulgaria and some people describe it as the most significant technological event in the Balkans. Traditionally, the latest innovative technologies, products and services in electronics and electrical engineering, power engineering and ecology, information technologies, robotics and automation, machine building, construction, the water sector, the chemical industry, transport and car service equipment are displayed at the International Fair Plovdiv. This year there are five specialized exhibitions-machine building, construction equipment, automobiles, transport and equipment, information and digital technologies and energy and ecology. 39% of the companies are exhibiting their products at the International Technical Fair for the first time.

Last year 35% of the companies attending the Plovdiv Technical Fair were new. According to the organizers, this proves that the interest towards the event has increased and that new industrial segments appeared. 35 top developments will compete for the gold medals at the 2019 edition of the International Technical Fair. Last year India was the partner country of the Plovdiv Technical Fair and in 2019 the Russian Federation is the partner country of this significant event. A Russian painting machine is among the sensations of this year’s forum. According to its founders from the Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University, the works of the machine do not differ from man-made paintings. So far the machine paints only in grey color, but a method using all available colors has been already developed. With the help of an artificial intelligence, the machine will make unique paintings similar to the classical works of art. On September 24, between 7 pm and 8.30 pm, a connection with the International Space Station will be made for the first time at the International Technical Fair.

The 75th edition of the International Technical Fair Plovdiv is held in a very successful for Bulgaria year. As Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov pointed out during the opening of the event, all world credit agencies increase Bulgaria’s rating in 2019 and this country is heading confidently towards the ERM 2 mechanism, also known as the Eurozone’s waiting room.
