Low-cost Carrier Ryanair Starts Flying to Bulgaria's Plovdiv Tomorrow
One of the biggest low-cost airlines Ryanair opens a new twice-weekly service from London Stansted to Bulgaria’s second largest city of Plovdiv which is to commence tomorrow, 2nd November 2010. It is believed that regular air flights from London to Bulgaria’s Plovdiv will boost the development of the potential of Southern Bulgaria as an all-year-round holiday destination.
Representatives of the aviation company expect that Ryanair will service 30 000 passengers from Bulgaria this year. The airline’s ambition is to increase the number to 200 000 until 2013. In the future Ryanair is planning increase the number of flights to Plovdiv, and will also consider opening routes from Bulgaria to Spain and Italy, where there are large numbers of Bulgarian immigrants.
Plovdiv Airport was renovated in 2009 at a cost of BGN 45 million.
One-way Ryanair fares for Plovdiv will start from GBP 32.99 including taxes.
