The village of Cherni Vit is located in Northern Bulgaria and is part of Teteven District in Lovech Municipality. The village is situated in high mountainous area, 17 km from the town of Teteven. Among the natural attractions here are the cave "Baiovitsa", "Benkovska cave" and the reserve "Preserve" in "Park Central Balkan".
It is famous for producing unique green cheese, which is prepared only in the homes of this village and which is very tasty. Among the regular events in the village are a celebration honoring Benkovski rebel at the end of May, and a traditional folk festival.
