Kavarna and Shterbinka in Russia celebrate five years as twin towns.

2006-09-28   |   7th August 2006

Five years has passed since the town of Kavarna on the North Black Sea coast was twinned with the Russian town of Shterbinka.
Dignitaries from Shterbinka are enjoying an official visit to the Bulgarian town, on the invitation of the Mayor of Kavarna, Tsonko Tsonev. The Rusian visitors have already visited some of the public amenities in Kavarna, and are said to have be very impressed with the special pedestrian area in the centre of the town. A highlight of the visit will be the unveiling of a monument on the Kalikra Cape, to the Russian admiral, Ushakov. There was also talk of future joint projects, aimed at improving the commercial and tourism interests in both towns.
