Bulgarian Building and Construction Chamber envisages 15% growth year-on-year
The volume of construction works in Bulgaria will expand by 15% over the next three years, the Bulgarian Building and Construction Chamber Simeon Peshov predicted. The current pace of development of the construction sector is indicative of steady economic growth, Peshov added. Deficit of qualified construction workers is already tangible in Bulgaria, which can be explained with the increased number of Bulgarians working on construction sites in Spain, Germany and Greece. Wages in those countries exceeded Bulgarian ones four to fivefold, and labour productivity was almost twice as big. According to Peshov, construction workers for the hotel network at the Bulgarian seaside demanded a minimum of EUR 500-600 a month.
