The village of Shipkovo is located in Northern Bulgaria and is part of Troyan District in Lovech Municipality. It is placed in the Balkan Mountains, being 20 km away from the town of Troyan. The village is known as a place for medical treatment because there is a hot mineral spring which is located 2 km away. Due to the mineral composition of the water in this spring, it can treated stomach, liver and kidney diseases.
