New Investments in Resort of Pamporovo

2010-02-01   |  pochivka.com, 30.01.2010

It is a difficult time for the ski resorts but it is all depends on their flexibility and good management. This is what the management of the Bulgarian ski resort of Pamporovo believes in.

Despite the high prices of the artificial snow machines the resort bought a few new ones and it increased the length of the ski slopes by 9 km, as they will no longer be fully dependable on the whimsical weather conditions.

A new children’s ski park, ski wardrobes, and a new slope for night skiing were also made. Due to the price of the lift passes the resort also offers package prices which are much more attractive for the tourists.

Gradually, the problem with the parking spaces and the cleaning of the resort is also being worked out, as the idea of the Director of Infrastructure – Pamporovo AD Zahari Shopov is the children to use the ski slopes for free.

It should also be noted that Pamporovo, the Municipality of Chepelare and Smolyan have united their efforts for fighting the global crisis. Another advantage is the new border checkpoint Zlatograd-Xanthi which will allow Greek tourists to access the resort very fast.

This year Pamporovo will also host a round of the European Cup ski competition.
