This year for a fifth time the town of Plovdiv will host the Museum and Gallery Night – one of the most successful and attractive events in the city’s cultural life. The event will take place on October 2nd.

The variety of cultural events and the specific night atmosphere of Plovdiv have been attracting in the last few years not only art lovers and artists from all around the country but also those looking for direct contact with art and cultural heritage.

Museum and Gallery Night is the shortest event of the Plovdiv Autumn Art Salon which includes the entire art world in the city – from the museums in the Old Town, through the private galleries around the central boulevard to the underground clubs in the Kapana area and the masters’ ateliers.

This year’s edition will present 45 participants in a three-part program: Museums and Galleries, Cultural Institutions and Clubs and Busy City Areas. The main independent and combined exhibitions – paintings, engravings, sculptures, assemblages, photography, scenography, installations, and video are to be accompanied by live arts – performances, shows, concerts, meetings, talks and discussions with the artists in real time.

The program will offer a variety of challenges for the visitors’ mind and senses. Such are the traditional One Night in Plovdiv photo competition and the children’s art workshops testing the skills of the youngsters.
