27.03.2007 THE CONSTRUCTION OF “VELIKO TARNOVO HILLS” BEGINS

The ground-breaking ceremony of the first self contained gated residential settlement in Bulgaria - “Veliko Tarnovo Hills,” took place on the 22nd of March, which is also the official holiday of the old capital of Bulgaria, Veliko Tarnovo. The total investment is estimated to 50 million Euro. The development company has planned to complete the project in maximum 3 years.

The luxury settlement spreads over 60,000 square meters on the Troshana hill, about 2.5 km away from the centre of Veliko Tarnovo. It is in close vicinity to the main road Sofia – Varna. “Veliko Tarnovo Hills” consists of 11 residential blocks of flats with more than 750 apartments and 43 family houses. There will be a shopping and administrative centre, cinema, medical centre, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, sports centre with gymnasium, spa facilities, Kindergarten, ground-level and underground parking structures in the central part of the complex. The total built area of the complex is about 100,000 square meters.

The new building was inaugurated by the Metropolitan of Veliko Tarnovo, Grigorious. The mayor of the town Rumen Rashev and representatives of the investors wished a successful completion of the undertaking. Traditionally the first brick was sanctified with wine and holy water before being dug in the ground. The ambassadors of Norway and Indonesia attended the official opening too. There was party after the ceremony.

“Veliko Tarnovo Hills” is a new type of gated residential district in Bulgaria, which is an illustration of the contemporary building tendencies and the changing life style in the country. The complex is divided in 5 sections. About 4 thousand people will live there. The location is one of the greatest advantages of the complex. “Veliko Tarnovo Hills” will rise above Veliko Tarnovo on the hilly site of Troshana and will be surrounded by unspoiled nature. The hill provides a picturesque views to the city, its old town and the legendary hills Tsarevets, Trapezitsa and Sveta Gora.
