Internet Site to Advertise Bulgarian Tourism

2010-09-15   |  lev.bg

By the end of next year Bulgaria will have its site advertising it as a tourist destination, as well as a multimedia catalogue of the tourist attractions. The executor of the project is the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism and it will be financed from the Regional Development Operational Programme.

The national tourism portal will be launched in nine languages including Hebrew and Arabic and will present over 400 sites and routes, the project’s leader Stoyan Georgiev explained.

The design of the site, which will use the already existing portal of Bulgaria, will cost 2 million BGN. An analysis of the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism shows that internet is the most effective and price-wise way of presenting Bulgaria as a tourist destination.

According to Euromonitor data the online tourist market within the European Union is expected to increase by 20% by 2011 and to reach 65 billion EUR.

This will not only be a site that will advertise Bulgaria but there will be references to other sources of information, tourist organizations, tour operators, etc., commented Stoyan Georgiev.
