Vidin is situated in the Northwestern corner of the country and borders Romania and Serbia. It is a very fertile agricultural region, and also home to many historical sites. The region is now experiencing positive improvements, including the construction of the new bridge over the Danube (due to start in July this year) and the major reconstruction of the main international road E-79 connecting Western Europe to Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey.
