BULGARIA’S INDUSTRIAL ZONES GET 18 M EURO FROM PHARE
The Regional Development Ministry will invest starting January 1 nearly 18 million leva in the development of Bulgaria’s industrial zones. Deputy Regional Development Minister Dimcho Mihalevski said that the first phase of the project involved the allocation of one million euro for infrastructure setting up in industrial parks.
Also on November 30 Interior Minister Roumen Petkov and Dutch ambassador to Bulgaria Willem Van Ee launched a PHARE project that would aid Bulgaria meet asylum-related EU criteria. PHARE programme allocates 800 000 euro for the project, Bulgarian National Radio reported. The Bulgarian government will provide additional 80 000 euro. The term for project execution is 18 months.
Petkov said that meeting EU entry criteria was not a goal in itself, as much as it ensured better living for Bulgarians. Van Ee said that current reforms should be finished, as they offered the country a number of opportunities. Society should use its resources at fullest, said he.
