BULGARIA'S PAMPOROVO RESORT OPENS WINTER SEASON WITH A PRAYER
Pamporovo ski resort in Bulgaria's Rhodopi mountains will open winter season 2006/2007 on December 15 2006. The opening ceremony will be held in Belmont hotel at 6.30 pm. Pamporovo 21 Century Hoteliers Union, Chepelare municipality and Smolian municipality organised the ceremony, Focus news agency reported.
Lifts will start functioning prior to December 15. They will work from December 8 to 10 as a number of university students booked rooms in the resort to spend the Student's Day there.
Pamporovo's main problem before the season opening is the lack of snow. Hotel owners and tourism branch representatives organised a prayer for snow in a chapel in the resort.
