Huge Rise in Sales in the Winter Destination of Bansko

Ethnos newspaper, Greece

More and more Greeks are rushing to invest their money in the emerging markets in neighbouring Bulgaria.

In particular, Bansko is the Greek investor’s number one choice for two main reasons: firstly, because of the low prices (one-bedroom apartment costs as low as 28,000 Euro) and secondly, because of the short distance to Athens (a 6-hour trip). The Director of Bulgarian Properties Hellas (Athens office) Mr. Dimitrios Tourikis emphasizes that now due to the global economic crisis property prices in Bulgaria have dropped by up to 30%, which provides a huge investment opportunity, with zero risk and long-term capital growth.

These days you can’t find cheaper property anywhere else in the European Union and as we all know Bulgaria is a member of the European Union and its currency is locked to the Euro at a rate of 1.95 BGN for 1 EUR. Moreover, because Bulgarian Properties handles the management of the bought properties (offering annual returns of up to 6-8%) it provides one more reason for Greeks to find a shelter in the Bulgarian property market in these difficult financial times.
