The Ayazmoto Park located at the end of the town is definitely a place not to be missed. Established in 1895 on the slopes of the nearby mountains. It contains the largest zoo in Bulgaria, making it an ideal place for a family outing.

For those that are interested in horticulture there is the botanical garden which features

over 200 exotic plants specially imported from Turkey, Greece, Spain and Italy, as well as from all over the world.
The park also contains facilities for soccer, badmington, tennis and jogging. There is also a nearby football stadium which houses Beroe soccer club which has a seating capacity of 10 000. The stadium also has facilities for athletics and gymnastics.

The park is a very popular meeting place for Bulgarians, especially at the weekend. Should you wish to stay for longer periods in Stara Zagora there are many apartments and houses for sale at reasonable prices. However in 2007 property prices may increase considerably, so now could be the right time to buy.
