Malls and residential complexes spring like mushrooms in 2007

The construction of an industrial park on a piece of land near the future Danube Bridge 2 will be one of the greatest investments in Vidin, amounting to approximately 70€ million. The plot has already been bought from the Municipality and the construction works, financed by Italian funds, are to begin this year.

The construction of Business Park Varna - the most contemporary high-technology complex in the country - continues during 2007. Fifty million euros will be invested in the complex. It will comprise 9 buildings situated on total area of 67 000 square meters.

A major American company will invest 200€ million near Sofia Airport. The complex will comprise of multi-functional business center with office buildings, logistics base, storehouse areas and a hotel. “Sofia Airport Center” will be constructed on 300 meters’ distance from the Airport’s new terminal, on a lot of 100 decares. The building works will begin during the spring and they are to be completed in a 5 years’ term.

Another development company plans building of an original supplement to “Business Park Sofia”. The new project will be located in immediate proximity of “Business Park Sofia”, as well as near “Residential Park”, which is now being constructed on the ring-road.

The project will be constructed on a lot of more than 27,5 decares. The project will amount to approximately 110€ million. It will comprise of nearly 35 thousand square meters of trade areas, approximately 40 thousand square meters of offices, a conference center with area of approximately 12 500 square meters, dwellings on area of nearly 24 thousand square meters, and more than 45 thousand square meters of underground levels. The complex will be integrated with the business and residential areas around it as well as with the future trade center nearby. The project aims at the construction of “Sofia Park” – a new housing complex in the capital, situated on area of 510 decares, with 730 thousand square meters.

YACHT PORTS ARE ALSO BEING PLANNED

Ports and parking lots are part of the great investment projects of the year.

The construction of the first private yachts port on the river valley of the Danube River is envisaged in Silistra.

The project for an underground parking in the old part of Veliko Tarnovo is to be started soon. The parking will be situated on the area between the Monument of the Hanged to the Samovod Market. The conception of the architects for the managing of the area of the old landslide has already been approved.

The parking will be on two levels and it will comprise of 250 parking lots. It will also comprise of commercial outlets, similar to those of the subways in Sofia. Experts have calculated that it will amount to approximately 2 million Euro. This year the Municipality is expected to assign the development of the project, which has already received invesor’s interest. Despite the so-far envisaged projects for a couple of skyscrapers in Burgas, Plovdiv and Sofia, the construction of some of them is not expected to be started during the present year.
