The village of Avren, the old name being Momino, is located in the northeastern part of Bulgaria and is the administrative center of Avren region in Varna Municipality. The village is located approximately 7 km from the village of Sadovo and is situated east of the Danube plain. The climate in the region is temperate continental and the soil is humus. <
In the village of Avren can be visited the church "St. Martyr Paraskeva-Petka", built back in year 1868, as well as the observatory, part of the National Astronomical Observatory "Nicolaus Copernicus” in Varna. Other interesting places to be visited here are the educational alley "Journey to the stars" near the observatory, the "Fishing Hut" in the fishing area to the dam near the village of Avren and the path “Kamchiiski Longoz".
