Underground town will be built in Burgas
Bulgarian Black Sea coastal city Burgas will build an underground attraction in the bomb shelters located in the Sea Garden. The total area of the underground tunnels is 3180 square meters. These are 12 premises, 17 corridors, 4 entrance-exits, which will be adapted to the accessible environment, Yordanka Ananieva, a deputy mayor, said.
The project named "Underground Town" is to be opened for celebration of the Town Day - on St. Nicholas Day. Before this, the bomb shelters will be repaired. The major repair includes rebuilding of the ventilation system, construction of a heating system, because now the temperature there is about 14 degrees during the winter and summer.
The municipal council of Burgas has to decide whether to get a loan for the building of the interactive attraction that will "tell" the history of Burgas in years.
Exhibitions, a cafe, a theatre hall and a hall dedicated to famous citizens of Burgas will return local tourists back in time. However, the bomb shelters will be repaired so as to preserve their original purpose.
