UK PM David Cameron to visit Bulgaria's town Elhovo
British Prime Minister David Cameron is due to visit Bulgaria's border town Elhovo on December 4.
Cameron is to arrive on Thursday afternoon and visit the Bulgaria-Turkey border, part of the EU's external border.
This comes after an agreement reached at an EU-Turkey summit meeting on Sunday that Turkey is to restrict the migrant flow from its borders into Europe, receiving a visa waiver, EUR 3 B in aid, and brighter prospects in EU membership negotiations in return.
Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is expected to discuss migration pressure at the EU’s external borders and their security with David Cameron in Sofia on Thursday.
The European Union reforms, which Britain is asking for ahead of a referendum on continued membership, will also be on the agenda of the meeting, the Bulgarian government press office announced on Wednesday.
The two heads of government are also expected to discuss matters of interest to Bulgaria and the UK, according to the announcement.
