Mummers Festival Straldzha 2010 to Be Held in Town of Sliven
The municipal mummers’ festival Straldzha 2010 will be held on February 28th 2010 in the town of Sliven. The aim of the festival is to show the folklore traditions related to the winter and spring holidays in Bulgaria through the mummers’ games and to help their preservation.
The mummers’ groups will be evaluated by a competent jury. The participants will be divided into two categories – up to 14 years and above 14 years, the organizers said. The maximum number of participants in each group is 25 and one representative in the original costume competition.
The first prize is 1,000 leva, as there will also be first, second and third prize for original costumes.
