Entertainment Park to Be Constructed in Ledenika Cave near Vratsa
An entertainment park is to be built in the Ledenika cave set near the Bulgarian town of Vratsa (northwestern Bulgaria). The underground entertainment project has been drawn up by the Municipality of Vratsa in partnership with Natural Park Vrachanski Balkan and the regional administration, the Park’s administration announced. The administration also added that the project Ledenika Entertainment Park – Tourism During all Seasons has received preliminary approval and has been filed under the Regional Development Operational Program for the improvement of the tourist attractions and the related infrastructure.
The attractions will also include high-tech equipment which will allow visitors to "discover" for themselves the cave’s sights.
With the aim of facilitating the access to the entertainment park the chair lift from the village of Zgorigrad to the Kravya area near the cave (which hasn’t worked in the last 20 years) will be renovated. According to experts from the natural park the reconstruction of the lift and the modernization of the relevant infrastructure will decrease the negative influence the tourist flow has on the protected area.
The project also includes additional equipment and conditions for sports and cultural and social events, which will attract visitors during all seasons.
The Mayor of Vratsa Kostadin Shahov said that the Council of Ministers has already approved the Ledenika Cave to be ran and managed by the municipality.
