Number of property deals in Bulgaria increase by 6.6%
The Registry Agency has announced its data of the number of property deals around Bulgaria for the third quarter of 2012. According to the data, the number of property deals was 58,643 in 3Q 2012 compared to 55,000 for the same period in 2011, which was a period with one of the largest number of sales since the beginning of the crisis. There is also an increase compared to the previous quarter of 2012 - by 8.8%
Real estate deals in Sofia increased by 6% compared to last year, while the number of property deals in the regional cities rose by 7.3%.
This is the first rise in the volume of deals after the stagnation that occurred in the end of last year. 2011 was the year that brought the first increases in the number of deals since the beginning of the crisis (increase in the number of sales in 2011 was 22% compared to 2010).
Our research has shown that the increase in the number of sales is one of the main indicators of short-term development of the property market in Bulgaria, influencing it in a positive direction. That, in combination with an increased foreign interest (mainly from Russian buyers), low interest rates on mortgages and a small but still a positive economic growth, gives a reason for moderate optimism for the development of the property market in Bulgaria and its recovery from the crisis.
