EIGHT ENTER INFRASTRUCTURE BID FOR BULGARIA’S DANUBE BRIDGE II
Transport Ministry received eight bids for the construction of the road and railroad infrastructure of Danube Bridge II to connect the Bulgarian town of Vidin to the Romanian town of Calafat across the Danube River.
Tender was launched for the construction of seven km of railways and the renovation of existing rail infrastructure, as well as for the setting up of a four-lane highway.
Intellinews reported that Transport Ministry approved a shortlist of project supervisors in the beginning of May.
The phase is the second one in the project’s execution. The initial bridge construction was given to the Spanish FCC Construcciones. FCC Construcciones won the project offering a price of 100 million euro.
Construction of the bridge and related infrastructure will cost 236 million euro. All work should end in 38 months.
