BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Price Indices (BPI) – August 2014

Prevailing positive trends on the Bulgarian property market were observed again in August. Sofia and Varna lead the way of market recovery with positive price changes and biggest numbers of deals. Property sales in August hit a record high in Sofia, Varna and Sunny Beach, supporting our optimistic expectations for the second half of the year.

BULGARIAN PROPERTIES' indexes measure apartments listing prices in 4 main locations - Sofia, Varna, Sunny Beach and Bansko in order to provide timely information about the market trends in the biggest city and vacation housing markets in Bulgaria.

The key points for each index for August 2014 are as follows:

Sofia
• Change in last month: +1.13%
• Change in last 12 months: +0.92%
• Change from the highest value: -41.73%

The current BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Index value for the listing prices of apartments in Sofia for August 2014 is 58.27 percentage points. The average monthly listing price of the apartments in the capital is 871 Euro/sq.m.

Varna
• Change in last month: -1.54%
• Change in last 12 months: +13.30%
• Change from the highest value: -35.08%

The current BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Index value for the listing prices of apartments in Varna for August 2014 is 64.92 percentage points. The average monthly listing price of the apartments in the biggest coastal city in Bulgaria is 967 Euro/sq.m.

Sunny Beach
• Change in last month: -1.20%
• Change in last 12 months: -4.35%
• Change from the highest value: -36.93%

The current BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Index value for the listing prices of apartments in Sunny Beach for August 2014 is 63.07 percentage points. The average monthly listing price of the apartments in the biggest beach resort in Bulgaria is 764 Euro/sq.m.

Bansko
• Change in last month: -0.87%
• Change in last 12 months: -5.57%
• Change from the highest value: -61.69%

The current BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Index value for the listing prices of apartments in Bansko for August 2014 is 38.31 percentage points – its lowest point ever. The average monthly listing price of the apartments in the biggest ski resort in Bulgaria is 490 Euro/sq.m.
