Foreign investments in Bulgaria focused on real estate sector
“Direct foreign investments in Bulgaria are mostly concentrated in the real estate sector,” said Yuliyan Balchev, representative of the Invest Bulgaria Agency, speaking at the Bulgarian-Romanian business forum held at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the capital city Sofia, FOCUS News Agency informed.
Balchev presented the results of a study of the agency on the investments in Bulgaria and remarked that the financial sector was ranked second in the chart of foreign investments in the country.
“The production sector is on third position, but Bulgaria gives stimuli, which ease more and more companies with high added value and attract them to our country,” Balchev remarked.
Speaking of the advantages offered by Bulgaria in terms of the foreign investments Balchev outlined the financial stability of the investors and the competitive power in the field of operating expenses.
"When a company comes in Bulgaria, it can rely on lower taxes and highly educated and skilled workforce who speak foreign languages," said Balchev and stressed that this is characteristic not only for Sofia as a capital, but also for larger cities. An additional advantage of Bulgaria is the fact that many young Bulgarians are students abroad and in case of good conditions they would return to Bulgaria.
