According to the designs, it will be larger and more magnificent than the National Palace of Culture (NPC) and will be built at the place of Yunak Stadium. This is provided in 2 designs of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. By the 15th of May, all Bulgarians may vote online for one of the 2 projects. The first one is for a multi-functional sports hall, with a capacity of 14,000 seats. It will be able to hosts events and trainings in all indoor sports. In addition, the facility will be used to host conferences and concerts. Apart from traditional indoor sports, the hall will be able to host some winter indoor sports, like ice hockey. In the basement, there will be changing-rooms, a conference center and a lobby for officials and VIPs. Towards the subway station there will be built a trade center, with fast-food restaurants, confectionery, offices and boutiques. The second design provides for the construction of a sports compound with swimming pools, a multi-purpose ice-hockey facility, and children sports centers. The sports compound will be provided with security guards and security cameras around the clock. The facility will be closed for visitors at night.
